Match Pattern Scale always returns 100

Hello All,

When Using imaqMatchPattern2 one filed returned by the function in the structure PattternMatch is scale. I have seen many posts about issues with scale and my understanding is that the function is unable to work if the image under test is scaled by more than 5%. However the scale result we get always returns as 100.

Is this field not being used hence 100 always being returned or is there a way to use imaqMatchPattern2 in such a way so that the scale of the match is also returned?

Hi Warren,

Apologies in the delay to replying to your query. The behaviour we can see is a result of the IMAQ team wanting to maintain the same search result cluster for both Pattern Match and IMAQ Geometric Pattern Match. Geometric pattern match allows for different size scales to be detected, which is probably the function that you should look to use. This is why we see this result returned but never changing.

R&D will take action to include this in the help file to minimise confusion in future. Sorry for the inconvenience caused by this.
