Max didn`t listed any device or software now is dead. HELP

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi, I had read that I have to change some settings in max due to changes in my program at LabWindows and Vision Module, but what accured, according to MAX I do not have installed any device or ni software, but my aquasition cards and software works just fine in the same moment. What should I do to fix it? It does not let me to reinstal it, saying that it need disc nr. 1 .... ?? what ever that means ..

whatsoever, I was looking for the solution in the data base over here and in the end I installed VISA package. After that MAX is crashing every time I`m trying to run it... So I suppose that now I have to reinstal everything from NI .... (·#?¬"@+`çª\&€!! grrrrrrr) If so, do I have to uninstal LabWindows as well, and what is the correct order of installing NI-PAL, NI-IMAQ, NI-IMAQdx, NI-VISION & Assistant, NI-VISA packages.

XP, P4, LabWindows 8.5, Vision 8.5, Imaq 3.7, MAX 4.3.

ok, I made some progress, if you can call it that way... I reinstalled the Vision and MAX module, but with the thing that the software that I have, is 3.8 and it seems to it doesn´t support my NI-1408 card even that the "Differences between the PCI-1408 and PCI-1409 National Instuments Acquisition Cards" article by NI says that

"The PCI-1408 is supported by all versions of NI-IMAQ, the 1409 is only supported by NI-IMAQ 2.5.1 and higher"

Ok, so I uninstalled Imaq 3.8 and installed 3.7 as I had befoure (when my program was able to run without max support) including naturaly IMAQ Provider for MAX. The Overall result is that the tree in max is visible, all the software is there,... without my acquisition card. Programs writen for imaq fail to run in LabWindows.

1.  Make sure you have a version of NI-IMAQ that will recognize the 1408.  I don't know what version discontinued support for the 1408, so you will need to check.

2.  Make sure the drivers are linked to the card properly.  The easiest way is to use Windows Device Manager, figure out which device is the 1408 card, delete it, then refresh the hardware list.  It will go and search for drivers for the card and should install them properly.

In all that rush I totaly forgot about the Control Panel. the good tip is also to instal imaq components each by one (not to use setup o auto run - it gona detect other versions that U have, only provider, .net, ect - it´s gona overwrite the one that U have).

Thanks Bruce for Quick! answer and help.

Now I can start new thread with other NI problem ...:manmad:
