Measure distance between 2 glare points

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

Does anyone know how to measure distance between 2 glare points (Image attached). The image shows 10 sets of glare points. I appreciate if you can guide me to process the image and produce algorithm to detect this 10 sets of glare points and measure the distance of each set.

Thanks

Farid

Question time

1. Do you want to measure like 1 to 2 to 3 to 4.....10 (IF yes which is 1,2,3)

2. Do you want to measure distance of each from each other?

3. From where do you want o measure? (Centre? Anywhere and keep that for the rest do that it calibrates when it finally matters?)

Hi muks..

thanks for your reply.

Question time

1. Do you want to measure like 1 to 2 to 3 to 4.....10 (IF yes which is 1,2,3)

- No. The image has 10 sets (doesn't matter which is 1,2,3..). A set has 2 points, and I want to measure these 2 points.

2. Do you want to measure distance of each from each other?

- I want to measure distance of each set (consist of 2 points only). So, there will be 10 different distances.

3. From where do you want o measure? (Centre? Anywhere and keep that for the rest do that it calibrates when it finally matters?)

- Anywhere

Thanks for the glare.vi.

That is the solution that I'm looking for.

I think,  I've an idea how to measure the distance between 2 points based on your glare.vi. I will add the particle analysis bounding box (Top,Left,Bottom,Right) and I will apply the same technique that you send me on fringesl.vi (http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=200&thread.id=25165). Then, I will use IMAQ Point Distance to measure between 2 points.

Thank you very much.

Farid
