Hi Fernando,

I felt I should add a little bit to this thread.  Bob is correct, NI IMAQ for USB is not supported on all of the localized, non-English Windows installations.  If you are using Windows XP for Spanish, the driver may not work.  Try using it on an English installation of Windows XP - it should work.

Additionally, I wanted to put to rest your fears about the yellow light next to Remote Panels in the Lisence Manager utility.  Although this may mean that this feature is not activated, you should not need this feature to use your USB camera in LabVIEW.  This is not the cause of this error.

Good luck,

Robert

kermeros,

Hi!

I have a problem in my application installer. I have built a VI which acquires images from USB camera and transmits them through DataSocket. The application runs well, on both Source and Receiver computers (video transfers well on the network).

My problem is that when I built the Installer for this application, it didn't include (and didn't allow to include) NI-IMAQ USB (Vision Assistant) and so when I install this application on another computers, it doesn't execute because the .vi for USB Capture is missing. It shows message as "NI-IMAQ USB init.vi" not found. I don't have this .vi on my computer.

When I included USB Capture instrument on my program, it automatically created a .vi, so it doesn't exist physically.

Any solutions?

Thanks ahead!

Hi vaibhav,

We have a knowledgebase on our website that explains how to do exactly what you want.  I suggest you take a look at this link.

Hi!

Thanks a lot for your attention!

I have visited this page and other pages also, on this topic. I have followed all the steps. Still I face the error.

Any clues?

Hi Adam!

I have visited several forums and help pages, and also knowledge bases from NI, but my problem continues. I feel I am doing somewhere very small mistake which is not explained in any of these pages.

I have attached a screen shot of my program with this message. The program works OK on the development machine. Then I build a project, create an Application (EXE), add this .vi as a source file and two .dll's, mentioned on these pages

How do I Deploy LabVIEW 8.x.x Applications with NI Vision 8.x.x?

LabVIEW 8.2 Application Builder Readme

I then, build an Installer, including the above created EXE (with a data folder) to Programfiles and the .dlls in SystemFolder. In Additional installer, I include NI Run-time Engine 8.2 and Vision Run-time Engine 8.2.1 and still after installing my application on another computer, I get the message of "IMAQ USB init.vi" Not found or "IMAQ USB Close.vi" Not found.

Do I need to make a source distribution? However I did that also, and included it in the installer, which means I included the above mentioned missing vi's in my application installer. And still it didn't help.

Do I miss some very obvious step here? This problem is taking longer than I expected and I haven't seen others facing similar error message. So I guess I am missing some obvious step.

Thanks ahead!

Hi vaibhav,

Did you do everything in the knowledge base I pointed you to?  Including placing the dll’s onto the source computer and registering the ImaqDirectShowExport dll?  Since the code works fine on the development machine I think the problem is on the source computer not with the code its self.  It might be worth a shot to try building a installer that runs a very simple VI that dose NOT include the IMAQ for USB functions. This will make sure everything else if functioning correctly outside of the IMAQ for USB.  I must also point out the National Instruments dose not officially support IMAQ for USB so there may be some issues with it.
