I have an Imperx Bobcat gigE camera that I can access through GEV Player with no problems, but not with NI Max where I get an "Unable to load xml file" error. I have checked the xml and found it doesn't use <pImplemented> or <pAvailable>, which was an issue for a previous post. I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Hi,
This whitepaper briefly discusses this error: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/5846/en/
Have you tried to update your camera's firmware? You could try remove the XML file, then re-install it to try ensure it's not a corrupt firmware file.
I've seen in previous cases that rolling back to a previous firmware version can help as well if the latest firmware does not work

I haven't tried to update the firm ware yet, but this is probably my next move.
The paper says
“Unable to set attribute” error message will be displayed. Run the CameraValidator.exe utility with the “/ATTRIBUTES” flag to detect which attributes are generating errors and contact your camera vendor for a new and updated version of the camera firmware.
I've run the CameraValidator.exe but it couldn't find the camera or the attributes.

Also check the firmware version
