Unibrain Fire-i color camera with IMAQdx

Hi All,

I am considering purchasing a Unibrain Fire-i 785c color camera. Is it possible to acquire from this camera using NI-IMAQdx (I do not have any NI-VISION). The sales rep pointed me at a quite expensive third party SDK. However all I want to do is snap images to a file so this seems like overkill......

Can anyone advise?

Just to take images, you need the IMAQdx (Image Acquisition Drivers), which is a few hundred dollars.  That should be all you need if you aren't processing the images.  If Save Image isn't available without NI Vision, you can convert the image to an array, then save it using the picture control tools.  It takes a few more steps and probably a little more time, but the price is right.
