I suppose NI improved the error handling in NI-Imaq 3.0. I did not find a documentation of your camera, but is it possible the camera works with 2 Taps, or what is the reason to use the 1424 instead 1422? You need 2 ports (16 datalines), because the camera acquires 12 bit images. Needs the camera the other 2 ports of the 1424 because the camera works with 2 taps? If so, try to expand your camerfile for a second tap.

Thanks. I received the same Error with Camera file expanded to 2 taps. May be I'm missing something else when upgrade from 2.5 to 3.0 ? or is there a bug from 3.0 driver ? I removed 3.0 driver and installed 2.5.1, and I can capture images again. I still don't understand why 3.0 driver does'nt work instead of improve the error handling ?

Hello,

Have you tried modifying your camera using the NI Camera File Generator? This program allows you to quickly and easily modify your camera file and provides the ability to try a variety of options. In a similar fashion to Measurement and Automation Explorer, you are able to perform snap functions to test whether or not the file works.

Here is a link to another DevZone article that discusses the Camera File Generator:

Discussions - What does NI provide for custom camera file development?
http://exchange.ni.com/servlet/ProcessRequest?RHIVEID=101&RPAGEID=135&HOID=506500000008000000EFED0000&UCATEGORY_0=_15_&UCATEGORY_S=0&USEARCHCONTEXT_QUESTION_0=camera+file+brad&USEARCHCONTEXT_QUESTION_S=0

Take a look at that page and try downloading and installing t
he Camera File Generator. Then try modifying the taps settings on your camera file until you are able to determine what the setting should be.

Try this and let me know if you have any additional questions on this issue.

Hello Scott,

could you please update the link to
DevZone article that discusses the Camera File Generator?

That one is not actual

Please, let me know, where is it possible to get the NI Camera File Generator.

I have sililar problem that with NI-IMAQ 3.0 (PCI 1409) I cannot use Linescan Camera (Linescan (1409).icd )
With NI-IMAQ 2.6 I was able to capture data from camera.

Camera: PerkinElmer LC3021-PGN (LPS: 36 kHz, 512 pixels)

Best regards

Lukas,

I apologize for the confusion. NI recently upgraded the Discussion Forum system and a number of the links to previous discussions were broken. Here is the updated link:

http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=200&message.id=4063&requireLogin=False

The NI Camera File Generator can be found at:

ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/imaq/pc/ni-imaq/cfgenerator/1.1/

Use the first link for additional information about the purpose of the Camera File Generator and let me know if you have any additional questions on this issue.
