Why don't camera files that work with IMAQ 2.5.4 work with 2.5.5

I have an application with 2 custom camera files. They work with IMAQ 2.5.4 but not 2.5.5. When I run it with 2.5.5 it claims these camera files are invalid. What is up!?

Hello,

I ghosted a test machine to Windows 2000 and installed NI-IMAQ 2.5.4 and a PCI-1424. Dalsa SI-11-01K25.icd file loaded up fine with no problems and then I upgraded to version 2.5.5 and camera file still loaded up fine. I'm assuming that you are getting the invalid camera file error right when you load up the file. I can't do further testing because I don't have access to the camera.
This may be due to a corrupted upgrade installation. In order to verify this, install the NI-IMAQ driver on a different computer and try your camera file there. Once that works you can uninstall and reinstall NI-IMAQ on your original machine.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have further questions regarding this.

The only thing that you have different is the operating system. Do you think that this could make any difference. I have also tried this on 3 machines. All the other camera files load fine except these 2. The other camera files probably came with 2.5.5. I think I made a clean installation. I am hesitant to change versions again because of the effort involved in reinstalling boards so that they are recognized by the software. If you really think that this will work I'll try it one more time

Hello,

When exactly are you getting the error and what is the complete error string and error code? Which OS are you using? Did you try different OSs?
With a clean machine I was able to load the file first with 2.5.4 and then with 2.5.5 and did not get any error as I mentioned earlier.

The error said that the camera file was invalid when I tried t open it manually and it would not recognize the file on its own. I tried windows 98 and NT.
