hi everybody
I research how to measure C/N (carrier to noise) with CATV and using a microcontroller or anything. I searched and read some documents and i see that spectrum analyzer uesed normally to measure this ration. But i dont see any project imply about spectrum analyzer with RF frequency (about 50-900MHz). But i feel there is a way simpler than spectrum analyzer. So, i want to ask every in this 4rum for guide, supporting and help me.

Hi trungvoi,
As a starting point I would suggest checking out some of NI's resources for RF.

Thank you,Tim W. I will read article that you suggest.
I want to ask a queston: Can i measure C/N but dont use spectrum analyzer?

From what I've researched, determining C/N depends on signal characteristics that are typically found by using a spectrum analyzer (SA). It might be possible to measure C/N without a SA, but you would have to implement the functionality of the SA in some capacity (performing FFTs, sweeps, etc.) to get your signal characteristics. The process of designing such a back-end might end up being more difficult than simply using a SA in the first place.

Thank a lot.
Do you know module support measure carrier to noise (C/N)?
