Dear all,

I have tryed to use the Measurement Studio (8.5 eval) Instrument Driver .NET Wizard in order to build the wrapper for the win32 dll of USB-NI8451 (I2C/SPI) card by using the function panel file (ni845x.fp). but it always failed...! But with other *.fp it works fine.

Do I -the wizard- need an(or more?) other files?

I found a little topic linked to this error but no real solution...

"31110: When calling an instrument driver, the Measurement Studio Instrument Driver Wizard will display a value==String.Empty message if the file has no prefix. This prefix is usually based on a company's IVI and VXI plug&play drivers. To work around this issue, modify the instrument driver file (.fp) to include a prefix. "

the project is not in cause, with other *.fp files all is going well.

But I use the files given by NI with the card, so please find the used file below.

Hi John,

I found two Corrective Action Requests about this issue, so for now, the only solution is the workaround given in the error message, that is to modify the instrument driver file to include a prefix.

I have got the similar problem too,

i try to call .fp files (in attached) then i got error like this name ==String.Empty

How can i do for fix it ? please advise .. Thank you very much

Hello,

To solve this issue you will have to open the fp file in CVI by selecting File >> Open >> Function Tree (*.fp). Once the fp file has been opened, right-click on the node and select Edit Node. You may change the Prefix here.
