The referenced component 'NationalInstruments.DAQmx' could not be found.

I have installed Measurement Studio and NI-DAQmx several times with support for .NET 2.0 and still cannot find this library. Every example included does not run because this file is still missing. I have search NI's site for several hours and CANNOT find this library.  I am using Measurement Studio 8.1 and NI-DAQmx 8.7. Using Visual Studio 2005.

Hi Fase,

The DAQmx .NET assembly should have been installed to the GAC and the <National Instruments>\MeasurementStudioVS2005\DotNET\Assemblies\Current\ directory. I assume those directories do not contain the NationalInstruments.DAQmx.dll assembly? Just to double-check, when you installed NI-DAQmx 8.7, you did select the .NET Framework 2.0 Support item in the installer tree right? This would have installed the .NET assemblies, examples and the DAQmx .NET documentation.   You should see a link for the documentation under Start  >> All Programs >> National Instruments >> NI-DAQ >> NI-DAQmx .NET 2.0 Framework Help. If you don't see that, then it sounds like you didn't check the .NET Framework 2.0 Support item.  If you do see that shortcut but you don't have the .NET assembly in one of those directories I mentioned earlier, then it sounds like something went wrong in the installer.  Did you get any errors during install of DAQmx?

Best Regards,
Jonathan N.

After installing NI-DAQmx 8.7 (NIDAQ871f3.exe) the DLL appeared. It did not install the DLL from the NI-DAQmx 8.61 (NIDAQ861.exe)
