Maximum rates for OnDemand reads (USB6009)

What is the maximum rate I can read samples on demand from the NI USB-6009.  I have tried various approaches but cannot get much faster than 80 reads of 4 channels per second?  I require about 10 times this rate.  I am programming in VB6.
