invalid index MStudiov7_LicenseFixer

The patch MStudiov7_LicenseFixer provokes the following error: Not valid index! Someone can help to understand me why? There is an other way in order to resolve the problem of the register of object CWUI.OCX?
Thank you.

Hello,
Could you please provide some more information about your problem. What version of the cwui.ocx control do you have on your machine? What version of the controls are you licensed for? When do you see the "Not valid index" error -- is it as soon as you start the License Fixer utility? If the License Fixer starts up without an error, then what do you see in the UI for the License Fixer, i.e. do you see the UI control in the License Controls, Evaluation Licenses, or Broken Licenses part of the UI?

Thanks
Nauman

Jorg,

It appears from the first screenshot that you have only have the demo version of the controls installed on your computer. It seems as if you should still be able to select it and click the "Revert" button to make "licensed" if you indeed have a license for these controls. However, in your software summary above, you say that you have Measurement Studio 6.0, which should give you more controls and the version should be 6.0, not 1.0. If you only have Measurement Studio 6.0 you should be using the 6.0 license fixer instead of the 7.0 which is the one referenced in this thread. You can find this utility attached (it can be also be found at http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/86256A47004E16D186256A99007BEFB7?OpenDocument which may be temporarily down but will be back up shortly). This utility will find your Measurement Studio 6.0 controls which should be able to be reverted back to licensed copies. If this still doesn't work please repost and we will go from there. I also am unsure what your error message says in English so if you do have further issues, please try to translate error messages into English. Thanks and have a great day.

Hello!

You are right, my Measurement Studio is 6, but the (only) control I use CWUI.ocx has the version 7.0.0.343.

The LicenseFixer6 shows nothing to revert.
The LicenseFixer7 shows my control CWUI, but why it is V1.0?

I have erased all NI regsitry settings and deinstalled all. After that I have installed the new Measurement Studio from CD.
Effect: The LicenseFixer6 and 7 shows nothing to revert!

But my "30 days evaluation version"-problem still goes on, when I create a new VB6 project using CWUI.ocx!

Questions:
1) Do I have a demo CD of Measurement Studio? Nothing in my installation says that. How can I discover?
2) We have two computers running CWUI.ocx in old version (3.0.3.549). They are running perfect and I have the full licensed state. I can develop in VB6 and build an EXE that doesn't pops up "30 days evaluation version"-messages.
3) Is the newer version for CWUI (7.0) licensed too, if I make an upgrade?
4) If I open my VB project on the new computer, the controls are upgraded from 3.0.3 to 7.0. Can I prevent this?

Hello,
You were previously seeing V1.0 in the LicenseFixer7. The V1.0 means that you had a licensed Measurement Studio 1.0 version installed on the machine. Measurement Studio 1.0 ships 3.0 versions of the controls. The demo version messages occur when you run another National Instruments installer that upgrades your cwui.ocx to another version -- in this case the cwui control was upgraded from the 3.0 version to the 7.0 version. Clicking the revert button on the License Fixer would have fixed the licensing problem and this allows you to use the 7.0 version of the control just as if you had the 3.0 version of the control.

You said that the LicenseFixer now shows nothing to revert after you uninstalled and reinstalled the Measurement Studio 6.0 CD. What about the left pane on the LicenseFixer? This shows the licensed controls on your machine. Is this empty as well? If it is, then you might have installed the demo 6.0 CD. Did you have to enter the product ID when you were installing from the 6.0 CD? The demo installer does not ask for any user information (name, organization name, or product ID).

Hello!

1) The left field of the license fixer(s) 6 and 7 are also empty now. All other fields are empty too. I was very clear in my cleaning work I think. 🙂

2) The new installation had NOT asked me for my license etc.

3) When I deinstall my actual (not working version) and reinstall my old licensed version 1.0 (with CWUI control 3.3), can I download then the actual version for upgrading and it will work?

Hello Jörg,
Looks like you have the demo Measurement Studio 6 installer. You have to pay for an upgrade from Measurement Studio version 1.0 to version 6.0. If you'd like to upgrade, you can find information for contacting National Instruments Sales at http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nicc.call_me?p_action=country&p_lang_id=US.
Please note that you don't have to upgrade to fix the problem. If you decide not to upgrade, and end up in your earlier scenario where you are a licensed Measurement 1.0 user and the cwui control is updated to a newer version by some other National Instruments product, then use the Measurement Studio License Fixer version 7 to fix the issue -- this will fix the demo dialog problem so that you can continue developing as a licensed Measurement Studio 1.0 user.
Sorry for the inconvenience!
