UNABLE TO DRAG INSTRUMENT I/O ASSISTANT TO BLOCK DIAGRAM

When I try to drag instrument I/O assistant into the block diagram I receive an error message " Measurment Explorer or Instrument I/O Assistant not installed correctely. Please install these ftom the LabVIEW Driver CD."  I have LabVIEW 8.0.1 installed and Measurment & Automation Ver 3.1.1.3004.

Hi JSHANK,

This is a common error that means that you need to install the I/O Assistant from the driver CD.  Click here to find another discussion forum post that addresses this.  I have placed the Driver CD onto the ftp site (ftp://ftp.ni.com/outgoing/) in a folder called "## Driver CD May 06 ##".  Simply download, unzip and run the installation file, then select for the I/O Assistant to be installed and then things should work for you.  The ftp site is cleared occasionally, so if the driver CD is not there, just let me know and I will repost it for you.
