GalilTools - learning the programming

Hello,

I am working on a project that requires me to modify movements of a Newmark XY Gantry machine using GalilTools. The machine is coupled with NSC-G series controller supplied by Newmark, which operates with GalilTools. Now in order to achieve my objective, I need to learn GalilTools and its programming language, but I do not have a spare controller that I can connect the software with and I don't believe that my company would buy a controller just so I can learn a programming language.

Now I want to ask the readers here that:
- Is there a way to successfully learn the language without the physical presence of a controller? 

- What is the best way to learn GalilTools right from the basics?
