How to update motion card firmware without internet connection ?

I'm currently installing test bench using 7340 motion card in a workshop. I updated NI-motion/MAX/... with CD, but now MAX ask me to update 7340 firmwares. I use to do that via internet on my office PC, but what about these PC without any internet connection ?

No internet connection is needed if the Motion interface and the driver are installed on the computer.
Because I'm using a french version of MAX, some terms may not be the exact translation.
  • Open MAX
  • Devices and Interfaces
  • NI Motion Devices
  • PCI-7340
  • Firmware tab (on the right side of the window)
  • Press Update Firmware

I'm really confused.... Seeing the same small window when activating license remotely (with NI logo and transfert), let me think it was done remotely... I didn't try to do the update before screaming on the forum!

Sorry and many thanks anyway.

There is no reason to be confused ! The most important thing is that it works now !

Xing,

As already stated, no internet connection is required for the firmware update. You can download NI-Motion 7.6 here. If you are using LabVIEW 8.6, you will need to install NI-Motion 7.7, which can't be downloaded as a single installer. Here you can find information how to get NI-Motion 7.7.The firmware files install with the related NI-Motion installer.

What do you mean with  "the program has no response"? Did the firmware download crash? In this case there is a chance, that the firmware on the board is corrupted by now. If this is the case, you probably won't be able to use the board and download new firmware. Please try to reinstall NI-Motion on your PC and try to download the firmware. If this fails, you may have to send the board back to NI for repair. In this case you should contact your loacl NI branch.

Kind regards,
