Initialize 6C card using Initialize Controller.flx

I would like to intialize a 6C motion card using the "Initialize Controller.flx" function. I have inherited an old intialization file with the extension .fsf. However, MAX now uses the .xml extensions to store set-ups.

I don’t know what the settings are, but they work for the code I’m re-using.

How can I get the settings from my .fsf file to the 6C?         .fsf file attached (renamed .txt)

The fsf file was used to store configuration information for the 6C before the configuration interface was integrated in MAX.
I have installed the old vis from NI-Motion 4.5 on my PC and I have opened the file that you have attached with the setup vi. Please have a look at the screenshots in the attachment. These screenshots show all configuration dialogs displaying the data from your fsf.
The information might look a bit cryptic but at least they should give you a good idea how to do the correct settings in MAX.

Many thanks for taking the time to create the screen dumps, I'll let you know if it works.

Creating a .xml config file may not be the best solution, as I have also inherited a servo-tuning tool that automatically overwrites the PID parameters in the .fsf file. Can you send me the Initialize Controller VI from NI-Motion 4.5 and I can incorporate that into my new application.

The driver downloads page only goes back to 5.0.1.

Many thanks, Brian

You can download the vis from this location but I'm not sure if these vis will work with the current NI-Motion driver version. You still can give it a try.

Thanks for the link to NI-Motion4.5.

When I run the installer I'm prompted for a serial number.  NI-Motion5.1.1 installs without a serial number, is there a workaround or should I have a number already?

With this driver version the vis were sold seperately. Later versions of NI-Motion come with the vis for free. The old vis are free now, too but you need to enter a valid serial number. Please enter the serial number of your LabVIEW license. This should work also with the motion vi installer.
