NI 9505 Encoder

Now I am using NI9505 to control a motor. There is no requirement for the speed of the motor. What I need is only controlling the motor in two directions (backward and forward).

Could someone tell me what is the useage of the NI9505 encoder??? How to connect with motor if the motor don't have a DSUB?

If I just simply control the motor in two direction without other requirements. Then is that OK if I don't use the NI9505 encoder? Just connect Vsup, C, M+, M-, four wires and use LabVIEW to control M+ for forward move, M- for backward move?

Hi Wenxi

Yes you can use the NI-9505 without using the encoder. This could i.e. be practical for a motor controller only using GPS.
