Optical sensors with mid 7604

Hey there. I'm using a MID-7604 to control two step motors, and I need to use two optical distance sensors (GP2D12) for further control of my project. I see that the MID-7604 have several analog inputs, and my question is how do I read the signal of such sensors using LabView?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Do you have any data acquisition board? You will need one to capture the signal and process in labview.

If you don´t have one, you can search in NI website. The NI has several models.

Best regards.

Well, I do have a data adquisition card, but I was wondering if I could use the 7604 analog inputs, and if I can, how to use them.

You still need a motion controller.  The analog I/O on the MID 7604 just pass through to the motion controller that would be connected to it.

I am also controlling stepper motors with active feedback from a vision system. I am using an analog camera with a PCI card to aquire images. You will need to create an image processing loop in your code which will send information to the motion loop at your desired sampling rate. In theory it seems straightforward, however, the programming could prove to be quite complex. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
