P70350 with older M063-FF-206 motor

Solved!
Go to solution

I am putting together a motion system and the customer has an old Kollmorgen M062-FF206 MOTOR, 1.5 AMPERES (18 mH inductance).

I am wondering if I can drive this with the P70350 stepper drive?

Hi RVallieu,

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be able to drive that motor with the P70530. Because it's a non-system motor, you'll have to configure it using the P7000 tools. However, the reference manual for the P70530 states that it will only work for motor inductance ranges of 2-15 mH (page 19).

Thanks, that is what I thought might be the answer.

Well, stepper motors are cheap enough to replace at least.

Thank you.
