Problem to initialize virtual board

Hello,

I got an evaluation CD "NI Motion Assistant". I would like to run some VIs with LabVIEW 7.1 but I have a problem with the virtual board (7344 for example).
There's a message that says: 'Error 70066 (NIMC_virtualBoardError) occured in No Associated Command ID. The board ID passed is currently being used for a virtual NI-Motion controller. No commands can be sent to a virtual board.'

Could someone explain how to solve it?

Thanks

The virutal motion control board doesn't simulate a motion controller. You only can use it to get familiar with the motion settings in MAX and to be able to start Motion Assistant even without having installed a real board in your PC. Motion Assistant doesn't start without a configured motion board.

You can't initialize a virtual motion board and you can't send any commands to it as stated in the error message.

Ok, thanks for your reply.
Basically, I ordered a motion controller drive UIM-7764 and a motion controller board NI-PXI 7344.
Do I have to wait for receiving and connecting them to test the running of VIs like 'Simple One axis Move', because I always get the message: 'Motion: illegal board ID. You must use the boad assigned to your controller in MAX'.

Yes, these errors will disappear as soon as you install the real board.
