power supply of 9512 and p70530

Solved!

Hello.

I'm going to use NI9512 with cRIO-9074 and P70530 stepper drive.

cRIO needs a power supply. And if I understand it right both NI9512 and P70530 need external power supply. So i need 3 power supplies? Or NI9512 and P70530 need that only one of them connected to the supply?

Thanks

As long as you stay in the 19 - 30 V range, you can power the 9512 and the 9074 with the same power supply. Still it's recommended to use a seperate power supply for the P70530, as high motor currents may introduce noise the cRIO system if you use a single power supply. Additionally seperating these power supplies helps to reduce potentially issues with ground loops.

Hello.

Thanks for your answer.

For the cRIO i'm using the next power supply:

Is it good enough for the 9512?

The manual says: Vsup input .......................................... 19 to 30 V, 375 mA max

Thanks

Yes, that supply will suffice for both the voltage and current requirments, supply is rated to 5A, device only need 0.375A (=375mA).

Hello.

Thanks for your answer.

Just to make something clear for me, 24VDC/5A as it written on the power supply means that the supply gives me 24VDC constantly and maximum of 5A(up to 5A) if needed?

Thanks.
