AIGATE or SCAN Clock Gating for Triggered AI?

Most examples for external control of AI use Scan Clock Gating. Is there any reason the AIGATE line is not used more often? I wish to use an external control line to control circular buffered data acquisition and it seems both will do. I do worry that the AI Read.VI will hang if I gate the SCAN Clock in the wrong way, whereas AIGATE will not interrupt a scan. Is this a valid concern?

Greetings,

Actually, AIGATE is part of Scan Clock Gating. The documentation does not make this very clear, but AIGATE is the gating signal used in Digital Scan Clock Gating. Thus, you will not need to worry about interrupting a scan that is currently in progress with Scan Clock Gating.

Good luck with your application.
