Analog Input to Analog Output Scaling and Regeneration Techniques?

Hello,

I am acquiring some thermocouple and mV raw voltage measurements that I would like to scale and re-transmit to hand-held instrumentation and 3rd party controllers.  The current system specs are a remote PXI system, connected via a MXI-4 fiber interface to a PCI card on a desktop PC to measure these signals.  Therefore, I cannot "tap into" the signals.

I am looking for the best technique to achieve this, and my current solution is to use software-based timing within a LabVIEW application.  Sample rates desired are 1kHz/channel for a total of 8 channels out.

Please provide any advice you can on the best method and questions you may have.

Hi LVB,

If I understand your application correctly, you want to use an analog input task to read the voltages from your thermocouples, perform some signal processing to scale the voltages, and then use an analog output task to output the scaled values to a handheld device and a third party controller. Is my understanding correct?

Can I also ask what hardware you are using, your PXI cards specifically?

Perhaps you could post your code or a screenshot so I can see how you are currently doing this in LabVIEW and make suggestions.
