I need to locate the DAQ (USB-6008 or cDAQ) 50 feet from my computer. I tried a Trulink 29340 USB 2.0 Superbooster Extender. MAX does not recogonize the DAQ with the extender attached. Are there any USB extenders (not hubs) that will allow locating the DAQ away from the computer?

Hi Qwerty46,
I don't believe that we have any USB extenders that are officially supported for the USB-6008 or cDAQ, however the Vigor VAD-1120 USB Extender has been shown to work with our SCXI devices according to this post . Third party extenders that are marketed as "Acitve USB Extenders" should be compatible with your devices (although I can't officially gaurantee that). I found one instance of 4 ATEN cables cascaded and successfully used (creating a total distance of 64 feet). Hope that helps, sorry I can't give you anything more official!

I have successfully daisey chained two Tripp-Lite model U026-016 Active Extension Cables to a NI cDAQ-9174 with a NI 9219 analog & temp card and a NI 9411 digital I/O card installed. So far it seems to function as without the extenders.
Including the USB cord that came with the cDaq that is 16 + 16 + 6 = 38 feet of USB cord. No extra driver required, Windows XP sp3, HP xw4600 Workstation.
I may try adding another for 54 feet. If I do I'll post here.
