Hi,
I am currently trying to run two NI-9862 modules on an NI-cDAQ-9178 chassis, using windows via parallels on a Macbook.
When NI-MAX is opened the software recognises the two modules in the "Devices and Interfaces" section, then they become "unknown" and disconnect. They re-connect automatically and repeat the same process continuously.
The equipment has hardly been used. I tried disconnecting and re-connecting the hardware, windows restart, altering the USB settings in parallels, along with ensuring windows is not disabling the power to USB for energy efficiency.
Does anybody understand what is going on?

I suspected that the problem has to do with the virtualization software you are using. We have not had any success getting USB products in general to work reliably in virtualization with VMWare due to bogus packet being injected into the USB data stream. You are probably running into something similar here.
