Dear DAQmx Base users / experts,
I am right now working with DAQmx Base 2.1 and a NI-PCIe-6251 on a G5 MacOS 10.4.8 machine. So far I did everything with dynamic configurations thus using ''DAQmxBase Create Task.vi'' first in the DAQ chain. Now the daqmxbase examples officially indicate the possibility to run static tasks, which I assume are created by the NI-DAQmx Base Task Configuration Utility. The utility comes with a bunch of prefabricated tasks for a number of common DAQ types and the capability to specify details for the particular tasks.
However, the utility does not show my device even though it appears valid in ''isdaq''. I assume this to be the reason for not being able to create a new task within the launched NI-DAQmx Base Task Configuration Utility. Upon selecting ''Create New Task'' pops up a window but the ''OK'' button to press after entering a task name stays greyed out.
I have heard complaints from different sources who want to work with DAQmxBase on Macs that there is no real Getting Started with DAQmx Base Tutorial. For many the difference between static and dynamic task creation is obscure. Due to the lack of documentation it's not all clear to me either.
Have I just not found the right document? I wish I could refer to one when asked.
Thank you for solutions and considerations
