'Gen Dig Pulse Train' works, 'Count Digital Events' does not

Hi there,

I can generate output using the 'Gen Dig Pulse Train Continuous' example vi on both counter terminals (cntr0, cntr1). However when wired together and a pulse generated from one and counted at another using the 'Count Digital Events' example vi, nothing is ever counted.

I can generate analog, digital and counter pulse output using the DAQ-mx assitant fine on these and other terminals but not any kind of read task using the assistant.

Output is verified using a multimeter (at low frequencies). Input does not seem to be registered regardless of frequency.

The generated pulse are 5V, however when wired to the other count terminal this drops to around 2.2V suggesting that perhaps the read terminal is earthed. I am sure that the terminals I am using are cntr0 and cntr1 since I can measure output from either count terminal when selected in 'Gen Dig Pulse Train'.

What could the problem be?

Brendan Arnold

OK, found out the problem some labeling by a previous user of the card was a bit misleading...

o cntr0 input is not the same pin as cntr0 output
o all cntr pins have individual earth terminals which have to be made common
