How do I establish a connection between my NI PCI-6034E and AMUX-64T ?

I am working with a MAX (Measurment and Automation Explorer  3.0.1.)

We had a problem with the driver while trying to recognize the PCI-6034E. But that was fixed by reinstalling the driver NI-DAQmx before instaling the PCI-6034E Card.

Referencing the  manuals and other forums, we came to a conclusion that what needs to be done is to use the MAX to access the subfolder NI-DAQUmx Devices then access properties of the PCI-6034E:"Dev2"  and under the Accessory tab select the AMUX 64T.

If our conclusion is correct, we come to another problem; the AMUX 64T is not recognized as an accessory to the PCI-6034E.

How can we get the PCI-6034E to recognize the AMUX 64T as an accessory ?

Hello,

AMUX 64T is not supported by DAQmx. See here

What you could do is to revert back to Traditional DAQ and use your AMUX with PCI 6034E

Thank you for the help,

I uninstalled the DAQmx and installed Traditional DAQ,  it recognizes  PCI 6034E  witch in turn recognizes AMUX 64T.

Now I have a problem when trying to add an input on LabVIEW 7.

LabVIEW cant find the a DAQ, granted my knowlege of LabVIEW and this whole system is pretty limited since i´ve only been working on this for two weeks.

How can I get LabVIEW 7 to recognize the traditional DAQ ?

Are you saying that Traditional DAQ functions are not available in LabVIEW>>Block diagram>> Functions Palette??

If this is the case, Try uninstalling and reinstalling LabVIEW and the Traditional DAQ device drivers

Or are You trying to say that the Tradition DAQ function does not auto detect the DAQ device??

If Yes,

Well, the Traditional DAQ does not Auto detect the DAQ device.

Go to Max>> Device and Interfaces>> Traditional DAQ and locate your device and note the device number is assigned.

In LabVIEW, you can acces a DAQ by manually entering its device number to the corresponding Traditional DAQ function

Hope this helps

Any doubts, do ask

Thank you for your help.

I`m starting from zero!

OK,

Here is the situation I have.

I´m using a Position Transtucer or Potentiometer from CELESCO. the way it works is, when I apply a
tension on the instrument, it will feed back a voltage ranging on average from 0.083 to 9.353 volts wich
tells me how much tension I applied.

Here is the set up.

The potentiometer is feed by an external power source, then it connects to the multiplexer AMUX 64T
(Channel 02 and 33)it is turned on, the amux is connected to the PCI-6034E in the computer.

Configuration.

Using the MAX 3.0.1, >>Devices and Interfaces>> Traditional NI-DAQ devices >> PCI-6034E (device 1).
The AMUX 64T (1) is the accessory in proprieties.

Open Test Panel the configurations are:  Channel 2; input limits are, High 10, low 0, every thing else
is default.

Here is the problem.

My average reading is -8.31... when it should be between 0 and 10

I tested the voltage direclty on the AMUX 64T with a digital multimeter and it gives me the correct
voltage output that the sistem should be reading.

Important

when I change channels on the test pannel, i get a different voltage reading (0 average) which leads me
to beleave that there is a signal between the AMUX and the PCI.

But when I put tension on the potentiometer, thre is no variation on the signal coming from channel 2. I
can´t see the problem! Assume I have every thing installed correctly.

I would greatlly apretiate any kind of help.

Thank you.
