How to access the unused pci-mio-16xe-50 channels using SCXI 1180?

Hello:

I want to use SCXI 1180 to unused channels. I configureed the virtual channel to use ACH6(which should be pin number 15 and pin number 2) to get a 0~5V analog signal. But, I can not get anything when I used MAX testing utility when I add a 0~5V voltage on the pin number 15 and 2.

Can anybody help me what's wrong with my method? I did not use obx! scy! mdz! format.

Thanks a lot

Hello;

Although the SCXI-1180 Feedthrough Panel looks like an SCXI module from the front of the SCXI chassis, the SCXI-1180 is more of an accessory than a module because it does not interact with the SCXI chassis backplane. In order to configure the SCXI-1180, you should leave the module slot occupied by your SCXI-1180 configured as "Empty".

This means that you use the normal Data Acquisition (DAQ) channel strings to refer to the unused Analog Input, Analog Output, Digital I/O, and PFI lines that you have access to using the SCXI-1180 Feedthrough Panel in your programming environment. To access the multiplexed analog input lines of your SCXI modules, you use obx ! scy ! mdz ! channels (please see KnowledgeBase 065GM6NI in Related Links below for more des
cription of this valid SCXI channel string). For the unused connections that you access through the SCXI-1180, you can reference them exactly as if they were normal the DAQ channels.

When configuring a Virtual Channel in MAX, you will probably be asked, "What DAQ hardware will be used?". There is a drop down menu of possible DAQ hardware. Do not select the SCXI module as the DAQ Device, but rather the DAQ board whose pins your are feeding through to the front of your SCXI chassis. For the unused signal connections, you can basically act as if you had a connector block connected to your DAQ board rather than an SCXI chassis.

Hope this helps.

The SCXI-1180 is essentially a 68 Pin Connector to a 50 Pin Connector. To find the pinout that appears at the connector try the KB:
