If i already have a E-Series DAQ board, how can i turn on a DC motor?

My problem is i have a DC motor which is needed to be turn on and off automatically by Labview programe. And one E-series DAQ board is already installed in that computer. But how can i connect I/O signal from this DAQ board to that motor, there is no serial or parallel port in that motor. What should i buy to achieve this goal? Thanks for help!

Unless this is a very small motor, the DAQ board probably will not have enough power to turn the motor directly, you will probably need to use a relay instead. Look for a small relay or Solid State Relay, you can find some at electronics stores or online. If this is a stepper motor, you will probably have to use more than 1 relay. It really depends on the motor.

Hi,

I backup the previous answer. It depends on the motor you are using. If the motor needs heavy power to operate, you can control it with a relay. There are some solid-state relays available on the market which you can switch using the DIO lines on the DAQ card.
