LabVIEW 7.0 and NI-DAQ 6.9.3

I have installed LabVIEW 7.0 under Windows98. By misstake I did a full installation and installed NI-DAQ 7.0 and MAX 3.0 although NI-DAQ 7.0 doesn´t support my DAQ-card (LabPC+).
I uninstalled LabVIEW 7.0, NI-DAQ 7.0 and MAX 3.0 and installed NI-DAQ 6.9.3 and MAX 2.2 instead. I allready have LabVIEW 5.1, 6.0 and 6.1 installed on the system. I also reinstalled the DAQ-card.
When I launch MAX the software tag still tells me that I have NI-DAQ 7.0 installed and not version 6.9.3 and MAX can not find my DAQ-card and none of my LabVIEW versions can find the card either.
How do I wipe out the reference to NI-DAQ 7.0, I suppose that is the problem. I don´t want to uninstall all my LabVIEW versions since I have gathered differet add ons through t
he years.
Hope some one got an idea

Hi Sven,

Although I haven't tried using LabVIEW 7.0 with an older version of NI-DAQ here are a couple suggestions.

1) Uninstall NI-DAQ 7.0. Make sure it is no longer in your Add/Remove Programs. Search your computer for nidaq32.dll. It should no longer be on your system. Also remove Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) and all the dependent programs. Remove NI-DAQ from the Windows registry.
*************CAUTION****************
Changing your registry could corrupt your system if done improperly. Export your registry just in case.
Go to the registry (Start >> Run >> regedit). Remove your NI-DAQ, NI-DAQmx and Measurement and Automation Explorer folders from the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> National Instruments. Also remove Measurement and
Automation Explorer from HKEY_CURRENT_USER >> SOFTWARE >> National Instruments.
This should remove all traces of MAX and NI-DAQ.

2) If that doesn't work. Try uninstalling all of LabVIEW 7.0 and its components. Then install NI-DAQ 6.9.3 and check to see if your older versions of LabVIEW are working correctly. Finally, reinstall LabVIEW 7.0 but don't include NI-DAQ.

Hope that helps. Have a good day.

Ron
