Laptop hangs while using PCI-6132 and a magma box

Hi,

I'm using a laptop along with a magmabox (Cardbus connection) to house a NI-PCI-6132 DAQ card. When I'm acquiring data the laptop occasionally hangs and must be restarted. Is anyone familiar with such a problem?

I haven't had this problem when the DAQ card is in a desktop with a regular PCI slot. So, I assume the problem is related to the magmabox.

Hi Nick,

The problem might very well be related to the magmabox, but before that can be determined, I need more information about your hardware.  I already know about the PCI-6132, but I don't know anything about your laptop computer or the magmabox cardbus connection.  Can you tell me the manufacturer and model number of both your laptop and the magmabox so I can check out their specs? Thanks.

Thanks for the advice, Wallace.

We eventually solved this problem by uprading the magmabox cardbus interface to a expresscard interface after which the computer no longer would hang.
