Load cell gives correct output, 1100 module reads incorrect value

i'm using an scxi 1303,plugged into an scxi 1100, and am using it to read in the output of a load cell (and many pressure transducers). the output of the load cell (2mV/V, 12V bias) is measured across the pins in the 1303 with a multimeter, and is as expected, but the virtual channel test panel is reading about 5 volts, regardless of any load application. everything else on the 1303 works fine. am i using the wrong terminal block for this measurement? please advise.

The SCXI-1303 terminal block was built for thermocouple applications but should work with your application.

There are pull-up resistor packs on the SCXI-1303 that allow for open-thermocouple detection. With this, you will read 5 V if there is nothing connected to the channel. If you are connected to the same channel you are reading from, you shouldn't read 5 V.

Sometimes these pull-up resistors can affect readings. In your case, you don't need them and so I would just remove the pull-up resistors in the SCXI-1303 to see if that would eliminate the problem. You should be able to just remove the resistor packs that are item 3 in figure 4 on page 9 of the manual linked below.

I hope this helps.
