MAX 4.3 and VISA 4.2

Hello,

When I install VISA 4.2 and MAX 4.3, I get the following message:
there was a problem connecting to the database

I try different things but I did not get the clue.
VISA 4.2 without NI-DAQ mx 8.6 (and MAX) is OK
DAQ mx8.6 and MAX 4.3 is OK, but as soon that I install VISA 4.2, I get this error message

Thank for your help

Hi Patrick,

There is a good Knowledgebase article which describes several different causes and solutions:

Let me know is this helps.

Hello,

As I said in my email, I played around a lot before I sent my email.
Right now, it is working without the VISA server. I do not really why. I replaced the config3.mxs file

Did you try to install on the same machine NI-DAQ mx8.6 (including MAX 4.3) and VISA 4.2 ?

Hi Patrick,

DAQmx 8.6 and VISA 4.2 (MAX 4.3) are the versions installed from the third quarted device driver CD's so myself and most of my colleagues have these versions. Where are you installing NI VISA from?

Did you restore the config3.mxs file from the backup or completely delete the data directory?
