MAX downgrade

Solved!
Go to solution

My computer is running Windows XP SP3 with LV 8.6. When working with a newly purchased DAQ (USB 6001), I installed the latest version of NI-DAQmx that's compatible with XP, which is 15.5.1, and MAX 15. It turns out these are not compatible with LV 8.6. I sucessfully reverted back to NI-DAQmx 9.5.1, but MAX is freaking me out. When installing NI-DAQmx, there is a check on MAX 5.1 and it says "This feature will not be installed". When I try to uninstall MAX 15 so that I can install MAX 5.1 (the one compatible with this version of NI-DAQmx) it wants to uninstall LV and just about everything else along with it. Is there any way of reverting MAX back to 5.1 without having to reinstall everything? Even if I found my LV CD, it would be a nightmare, given add-ons.

Hello MFiddler.

Please refer to these posts:

Sadly, the only way is to unistall MAX and the dependancies.

Nooooooo....

Thank you for the links. I had seen the second article, but not the first. I also noted the user's horrer as everything was uninstalling. Poo... I suppose I'm partially to blaim for just clicking through installations, though endless EULAs (not just NI's) share a big part of that blaim.
