NI DAQ USB 9215A not recognised

I have a problem when I have tried to use NI DAQ USB9215A on a particular machine. The machine is running Microsoft Windows XP V2002 Service Pack 2, Pentium 4 2.60GHz with 1.0 GB of RAM. I have installed NIDAQmx 8.7.1 and  MAX 4.4.1. Now connecting a NI USB 6009 device this is recognised straight away but connecting the NI DAQ USB 9215A it comes back with:
  1. Found new hardware: NI USB 9162 USB Carrier
  2. USB Device Not recognised

Now I have tried a different PC running the same software with the the same NI DAQ USB9215A and this time the hardware is recognised fine with the NI DAQ USB9215A appearing under MAX.

I have also tried re-installing all software (after removing all software, deleting software registery entries for NI and running NIBlast ) on the problem pc to no avail.

Any suggestions as what to try next greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Javed

Hi,

we have two different versions of the carrier, one that works with DAQmx and one that works with DAQmx Base. Which driver is the functional computer using?

It is strange that the card works on one system but not the other when they have the same software installed. Perhaps the USB port is causing the problems?

Can you confirm that you have the same software on both computers? Can you go to the Measurement and Automation Explorer and expand the software tab? Check whether you are using the same versions of DAQmx

in case this is causing the problem.

Let us know how you get on.
