NI MAX V4.0 USB problem

I am trying to use a Keithley KUSB 3100 DAQ module within LabView V8.0.
First step is to see if NIMAX can 'see' the module, which it can't, In fact NI MAX does not report any USB items being present.
Things I've tried:
1. Downloaded & installed NI MAX V4.0 as it suggests this has full USB support
2. Verified the DAQ module has installed correctly by using Windows device manager.
3. Installed the Keithley supplied LabView files & IV examples.
4. Searched the developer zone for advice or more current instrument drivers.

People continue to think that NI-MAX is supposed to detect and configure DAQ devices from other vendors. That is a mistake. NI provides MAX for their products and should not be expected to work with others. MAX supports the NI USB DAQ devices. If you installed the software and drivers that you got from Keithley, I would suggest that you try those and see if they work.
