Hello,
Currently I use a PCIe - 6321 Multifunction DAQ device for controlling my stepper motor. I need to change the PCIe - 6321 and use the stepper motor with a USB Multifunction DAQ device similar to PCIe - 6321. I am not sure about which USB model to select. Can I please get some help regarding the selection of proper USB MIO DAQ device which works similar to the PCIe - 6321.
Thanks,
Bharath J S

The 6341 (which comes in a USB variant) is the same as the 6321 but with a faster ADC (500 kHz vs. 250 kHz).

John Passiak,
Thanks for the information. But I found NI USB 6212 and it is also similar to PCIe-6321. So which one out of these two would be a best option.

The 6212 differs from the 6321 quite a bit on the digital side, which presumably you are using to control your stepper motor. For instance, it only has software timed DIO tasks and only has 2 counters with an older set of features (e.g. no buffered counter output).

John Passiak,
Is the USb 6341 also bus-powered USB device similar to the USB 6212 device.

It is not bus-powered.

John Passiak,
So do I need to provide a separate power supply unit for the device. In that case what would be the best power supply unit I can provide for the same.
Thanks,

NI has a power supply they provide on the product page (I don't think it is included by default, might want to confirm with NI), or you can provide your own that meets the requirements from the specifications document:

John Passiak,
Thanks for the explanations. I went through the USB 6341 device manual and specs sheet and it would be best suited for my application.

634x needs an external power supply, but offers a lot more digital capability
621x is USB powered, but lacks the timing of the nicer hardware.
Might be worth giving your local NI rep a call and see what they recommend for your application.
