Online E Series Diagnostic Utility and DAQCard-6036E compatable?

1) "DAQCard-6036E" not supported by Online E Series Diagnostic Utility? I tried on more than one laptop.

2) The diagnostic util. reports NI-DAQ version 6.9.1 (PASS), when I actually have NI-DAQ 7.1 (traditional AND mx) installed?

Detection -- Device Detection and Resource

This test verifies the driver and hardware installation by resetting the device and reading various attributes. To pass, the device must be properly installed and configured via the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). If the installed NI-DAQ driver is older than version 6.9.1, you will be advised to upgrade. If a SCXI connection to the device is detected, you will be instructed on how to temporarily disable this connection. Testing will be aborted if the device is not supported by this utility.

Greetings,

It is a known issue that NI 6036E devices are not supported by the Online E Series Diagnostic Utility. If you have access to LabVIEW, you could use the following example program. It performs the same self-diagnostic and should function correctly with NI 6036E devices.

With regards to the Online E Series Diagnostic Utility reporting that "NI-DAQ Version: 6.9.1 (PASS)", it is just verifying that the computer has version 6.9.1 or later installed.

Thank you, I will try that.

Could you tell me, is there a technical reason the online utility won't run? (What fails?)
Or, is it just a h/w recognition problem with an out of date, hard-coded list of supported devices?

The second reason you mentioned is correct. When the Online E Series Diagnostic was created, the NI 6036E was not yet released.
