Hi all,
I would like to ask a general quesiton regarding PCI-6110. I am currently using Win7 64bit with MATLAB 2012a 32bit, which controlls the board with Data Acquisition Toolbox. I use DAQmx 9.6.1 as the driver.
Before starting the measurement, I always use the NI MAX software to check its working status. I firstly use "self-test" to check the communication and I reset the device and then I launch the test panel. I surprisingly found that there are three states of the board in its AI channels:
1. All channls acquiring signals properly, which is good.
2. One or more channels are getting nearly "zero" signals but with actually non-zero inputs, and the rest channels working fine.
3. All channles do not acquire any signals after I press the "start" buttoms in test panel.
I tried adjusted the connection port and remove/plug-in the board but it sometimes helps, and sometimes not. Do anyone know a general debugging tip for PCI-6110 and the possible issues with it?
I have to clarify one thing that, I did successfully working with this board and controll it using MATLAB several times and get good results. However, it just bogged down sometimes and takes a while to function again for some reason unknown. Thank you all in advance.

Hi Yungkan
Unfortunately you should post this question in a Mathlab forum, because it looks that the problem is with mathlab and the Data Acquisition Toolbox which is supported by Mathlab and not NI.
If you are able to run the self test and use test panel, it seems that all the NI hardware and drivers are working properly. As you are getting the error in the application of Mathlab this should be a question for them.

Thank you for the note! I think I confused you by stating the MATLAB stuff...
Actually the problem described above was found in NI-MAX software, and MATLAB is just the coding platform. I mean in NI-MAX, sometimes the board reads correct signals and sometimes part of the AI channels mal-functioning, giving near-zero reading with non-zero inputs. Furthermore, it can sometimes gives no signal at all. All the "syndromes" are seen even when the board passed "self-test" and "reset device", and that is why I cannot locate the problem.
Thanks again, and hope someone has the same experience could provide some guidelines.

Hi Yungkan
In order to help you could you give me some details
What are you measuring voltage, current, resistance, some sensor or digital?
Are you using a task to do the measurements? Which configuration are you using?
Referenced and Nonreferenced Single-Ended Measurement Systems
Have you seen this page in order to check that you had taken the considerations and tips that they mention?
Field Wiring and Noise Considerations for Analog Signals
Could you add some screen shoots of your good reading and a wrong reading in order to compare them and see what the problem is?

Hi Esteban,
I will be out of town for a few weeks and will get back to you as soon as possible. I have contacted NI's support and will update the issue in this string as well. Thanks.
