I cannot get my analog inputs to work. They are connected through a BNC-2090A. I have a digital input connected in PO0 that works just fine. When I tested the one AI channel the other day I was getting a signal in the Measurement and Automation test panel but it isn't working any more. Help!

Hi swinges,
This is Doug from Applications Engineering. In order to better assist you, I'm going to need more information. Are any of the other analog input channels working? What source are you using to measure your analog input channel? Do the analog outputs work?
Thanks

I have tested a few different analog input channels but not all of them. I originally connected the output of an EMG amplifier to AI0 and then after I started having problems I connected it to a signal generated using the 5V output with a momentary switch in the series so I didn't have to hook up the EMG electrodes. I verified that the signal coming out of the amplifier was correct using an oscilloscope so I know there should be a signal coming through.
I have not tested the analog outputs at all. It seems that the digital input is working since I was able to use my switch to generate the change in the Test Panel. As I indicated it is strange since I had tested the analog input in just the first channel originally and it appeared to be working. This is brand new equipment so I am not sure what may have happened to cause the change.

The analog outputs do not appear to be working either.

I also tried hooking up my signal through a SCB-68 and I still couldn't get the analog signal to work in the test panel.
I have tried everything I can think of to get the analog signals. Is there some setting I am missing? I did enter the BNC 2090A (and SCB-68 when I changed it) as the accessory in hte configure panel.
I reconnected everything the way it orignally was and the digital input is still working while the analogs are not. I am at a loss for what else I can try.

What was the voltage level of the signal coming out of the amplifier? It's possible your amplifier put out a voltage higher than the rating on the analog input and damaged the card. Can you try the card in another slot on your PC? If the card still exhibits the same issue, please call in at 1-866-ASK-MYNI (275-6964) and we can troubleshoot this issue over the phone further. Thanks

I am not sure of the exact voltage but I believed it was within the proper range when I checked before. The voltage should not have been too high since I have colleagues who use the same setup.
I will check when I am back in the lab tomorrow and also try moving the card.

I measured the voltage out from the amplifier and it is ~3V maximum at the settings I used. The amplifier is rated for a maximum of 8V (not realistic for my signals) with a typical output of +/- 5V.
I tried another slot in my PC and had the same result.

Doug -
I ran the diagnostic utility and saved the result in the attached text file. The report indicates that the analog input/output are not working. It seems like a problem with the ground and reference voltage - is this something I can fix?

At this point, I think we have exhausted all of our self-diagnostic troubleshooting options. I strongly recommend that you call in at 1-866-ASK-MYNI (275-6964) and we can look into setting up an RMA for the card.
