USB 6009 shows up in Device Manager, but not Measurement and Automation Explorer

Solved!
Go to solution

I have a NI-USB 6009, which is visible by Windows, but not in MAX.  AM using NI-DAQmx 9.0.2 (so it should pre-date the HID/PID issue I have read about).  See attached screenshots.

I suspect I am missing something.  What??

Expand the "Devices And Interfaces" branch of the tree at the left, that is where it should show up.

Thanks, AK, but I am aware of that.  It does not show up there.

Hi Chris,

It sounds like it is a problem with NI software not recognizing your NI USB-6009. The most likely reason is that your "NI Device Loader" service has not started on your computer. To resolve this issue, please follow all the steps here in this Knowledge Base article.

Let me know if that works for you! Have a great day!

Peter,

That is not the problem.  The service was running.  Just for giggles I disconnected the DAQ, stopped and restarted the service, and reconnected the DAQ.  The problem persists.

Sounds like a classic MAX database corruption.

There's methods to go through and fix that... they're rather complex and convoluted.  Easiest way is to simply uninstall/reinstall MAX.  Your version's a few versions out; 9.4.0f1 with the WinXP hotfix has worked well to fix that same problem on several machines here, looks like 9.5's out for download now.

That appears to have worked.  I still need to apply the Hotfix, but look to be up and running.  Thanks!
