USB/WIRELESS/ETHERNET 9237

hi to all,

 

i would lke to know about 9237 module. how wireless or ethernet module workis. does it requires any more hardware to setup. USB i can understand that it has usb connectivity thorugh pc we can configure this one. but really dont know how to use wireless or ethernet. please reply as early as possible.

Hi Sahara,

 

firstly, u would need daq-mx 8.7.2F or 8.8 to use wireless or ethernet module. When u install either of these two, in MAX, whn u right click on NI DAQmx Devices, u will get one more option of finding network devices. after selecting the devices and adding them, they will come under NI DAQmx devices and will behave like normal devices.

I just recently bought an ethernet module and a wireless module.  If you connect them up on the same subnet as PC, then MAX on the PC should be able to find them.  For the wireless one, you connect it to a wired port to configure it and then once you see that it can connect via the wireless connection, then you can disconnect the wired port.

 

If the devices are not on the same subnet as your PC, then you have to figure out some way to determine the IP address it was assigned by the DHCP server.  I found a tool that lists all IPs in a subnet and their related names.  The network names for these module are unique and were easy to spot.
