Earlier, I had turned off MS Security Essentials and Comodo Firewall, without success.  After your suggestion, I un-installed both of them and turned off the Windows firewall too.  I then re-installed each of them one at a time and tested to see if the DAQ could be detected.  So far the DAQ is being detected reliably even with these programs installed now.  I wonder if there was a setting in Comodo that was preventing the DAQ detection (and simulated DAQ installation) even when the firewall and malware detection were turned off. 

 

I'll keep checking it over the next couple of days and let you know if it's working.

This seems to have done the trick.  The DAQ is now being recognized reliably.  Thanks again for your help!
