problem with PCI-6111 installation

Hi,

I tried to install PCI-6111 into compiter. I saw that BIOS worked then I got black screen.

Computer and card look fine because 

- PCI-6111 works in another computer

- PCI-MIO-16XE-10 works in this computer in the same slot

Any idea?

Hi Vasilich,

You've definitely verified that the PCI-6111 works since it's functional in another PC, but because a different card (the MIO-16XE) works in the problematic PC doesn't mean that the PC will support the PCI-6111.

The MIO card is a legacy device and has a simpler design. Depending on the age of the target PC, the 6111 may request different resources than the PC's BIOS is capable of assigning. My suggestion is to try updating your BIOS if there one is available for your computer. Before doing that, though, you may want to see if the computer boots when the 6111 is seated in a different PCI slot.

Hi Joe,

A joke is that I moved PCI-6111 card from old PC (> 3 years old; Dell Dimension 530) to new one (1 year old; Dell Precision 390).

The new PC (where PCI-6111 doesn't like to work)

- works with PCI-6711 currently; worked with PCI-6036E also

- has more new NI drivers and NI M&A

Also I had tried to use PCI-6110 card which is similar PCI-6111. That PCI-6110 was not used so long. I didn't pull out card myself from another old PC and can not be sure that PCI-6110 was recognazed there. But now it are not recognazed in any PC.
