setting daq card in traditional daq

I want to use old VI's with a new daq card so I can avoid using the express Vi to save computer memory.
The problem I am having is I can't seem to set this up to be a tradition daq.  I tried to reinstalling the driver, etc...

I have a PXI 6143, PXI 6733, and 2 PXI 6704's and a PCI 6143.

How can I set these up to use the old VI's?

Thanks.

Hi,

Here is some info for you regarding NI DAQ driver support

You will find that PCI/PXI 6143 are not supported by traditional DAQ ( only supported by DAQmx)

Where as PXI 6733 and 6704 are supported by traditional DAQ( also supported by DAQmx). Install the version of Device Driver found here

One advise: If possible try to upgrade your VI's to DAQmx, Because of the advantages it has over the Traditional DAQ

Hope this helps

Regards

Dev

the problem i'm find when using the DAQmx, is that it is taking up 2MB of memory to run it.  I am trying to reduce this as much as possible and figured using old vi's would help.

Thanks,

Hey guillio_2000,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.  As devchander mentioned above, when programming with your PCI/PXI 6143 you will have to use the daqmx vi's.  Here are a couple of great links about daqmx.  The first link talks about the advantages of using daqmx versus using traditional daq.  The second link demonstrates how to migrate applications written in Traditional NI-DAQ to NI-DAQmx.  Another thing I want to point out is all of our new daq devices will only be supported by daqmx.  If you have anymore questions just let us know.
