Can't figure out how to see a reasonable graph of a simple circuit

When I run this and use the interactive grapher, all I see are lines blowing by at lightspeed.  My expectation was a that I'd see a gentle sine wave, ideally in real time.  How do I tame the grapher?

Привет! Нужно изменить параметры развёртки осциллографа (покажу в своей версии MS)

Thanks.  I don't read Russian well, but I was able to follow along.  I am using a very different version of Multisim, I think. My Grapher setup looks nothing like that.

My trace is scrolling (?) so quickly it isn't usable.

Hi TonYenn and tipa,

To be able to see a pleasingly moving waveform you need to choose a frequency which is not a harmonic of the Grapher's retrace frequency (oscilloscope's retrace frequency). If a repetitive waveform's frequency is less than the retrace frequency you will see strange trace(s) such as "lines blowing by at lightspeed". If a repetitive waveform's frequency is a harmonic of the retrace frequency the waveform will appear stationary.

I created an example which you can easily reconstruct, please refer to the attached screenshot below for the values of the components.

The default setting of the Grapher is 1 ms/div, there are 10 divisions. The total time of 1 complete trace is thus 10 ms, so the retrace frequency is 100 Hz.

I set V1 to 100 Hz so this will appear stationary. I set V2 to 150 Hz so this will appear to move.

I use the Split mode so that I need to post only a single screenshot. The Split "button" is encircled red in the screenshot.

On the Grapher window, change the trigger type from None to Normal. The drop-down list is encircled yellow in the screenshot.

However, no tool for capturing video frames is available in the computer that I'm using so I can only post still image/screenshot. You can simply reconstruct the circuit and do the simulation to see how the Grapher displays the waveforms.

Best regards,

G. Goodwin
