Is there a way to export Multisim schematics to a DXF file? Our standard procedure is to export schematics to DXF so various company borders and signature boxes can be added. We've been using OrCAD before now to do schematics and with this we are able to export DXFs.
If it isn't possible with the current Multisim version are there plans in add this feature in the future?
Thanks,
Robert

rmoss78,
There is no native capability but you can do this using a few external software pieces that are relatively low cost.
1. You'll need a PDF print driver. Some newer PCs come with this standard today. If not I have recommended this one in the past (www.pdf995.com).
2. You'll need a PDF to DXF conversion tool. I recommend this one (www.aidecad.com) and have heard customers have good success with it.
Note - there are likely other free or low cost conversion tools - if you are having good luck with others, please post here...
Now all you need to do is print out the schematic to PDF (nice to have it in PDF anyway) and then use the PDF to DXF converstion tool to get it into an assembly drawing in Autocad or similar mechanical drafting tool.
Now the downside is that the resulting DXF is going to be lines and not any organized 'blocks' that you can reuse in Autocad...

Hi Pat,
I tried your recommendations and it worked like a charm. Thanks!
Now if there was only a built in converter.....

I just tried this one and it worked great for creating a board image import to UB. Even got the units and scale right.
To bad I can't open it with my old version ME CAD program as well.
Does the conversion online for free and emails you a download link.
