I've been using version 10 Multisim/Ultiboard to upgrade a DSP. It has a number of issues and I need to complete the contract. I'm now using an evaluation version 12 which solves many of 10's problems but having done a forward annotation to reconcile the schematic with the layout I get nonsense results as below. For some reason I cannot find why the software does not like 3 of the 586 components.

Obviously OPT7 does exist!
What am I doing wrong/missing as I have to convince my client that it is worth the cost of the upgrade from 10 to 12
Thanks.

This could be a defect I have been fighting for some time.
What you need to do is open the UB netlist editor and delete all nets, then re-import the netlist from the file again.
Sometime you can just re-import the netlist again when this happens, but it always works for me to delete all nets first and then import the file.

Thanks dbur for your reply. Importing or deleting nets pushes all the components off the board.
Due to issues with version 10, mods have been applied to the layout after which the schematic has been revised and the layout modified again. The two have got out of synch.
I have resolved the D1, D2 issue by selectively back annotating (using the "ignore" drop down) and verifying the result on the schematic. It has done a weird thing with the GND connections but has fixed the other error messages. The OPT7 error just went away. So with selective back and forward annotations I am, difference by difference, reconciling the schematic with the layout.

Yes, if the part footprints or redes have changed they will move off the board even if forward annotate works properly.
Deleting the netlist should not do that though.
Perhaps experiment with a UB to MS back annotation to clear that up.
In any case you have to get them back in sync for things to work properly.
